Obituary for Harold Waddell Dyer

Harold Waddell  Dyer
Harold W. Dyer – age 72 of Maynardville, passed away peacefully at his home on May 3, 2018. He was a member of Alder Springs Missionary Baptist Church. Harold was a United States Navy and Vietnam Veteran where he served aboard the U.S.S. Mills #383. He enjoyed his yearly reunion with his Mills Shipmates. He was owner and operator of Dyer’s Garage and the original Thunder Road Motor Cars. Harold also enjoyed wood working and being with his family and especially his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Magnita Dyer; sisters, Sherry Dyer and Norma Cooper; half-brother, Clifford Dyer; half-sister, Lillian Melton; niece, Heather Phillips; loving grandparents, P. F. and Mallie Graves; and son-in-law, Brian Bowman. Harold is survived by his wife of 50 years, Judy Dyer; daughters, Darla Bowman and Denise Tindell; son, Travis (Chandra) Dyer; nine grandchildren and five step grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special cousin, Judy Sexton.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 5, 2018 in the Trinity funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service will follow with Reverend Jimmy Davidson officiating. Interment will follow in Union Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Military rites to be conducted by Tri-County Veterans Honor Guard.
