Rev. Roy Glen  Acuff
Rev. Roy Glen Acuff – 86 of Blaine, was born, January 27, 1932 to Joe P. and Lora Sellers Acuff and passed away, Thursday, March 1, 2018. He was a member of Locust Grove Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army PFC from 1952-1954. Roy began preaching in 1961 and has been a faithful servant of the Lord for fifty-seven years. He pastored nine different churches, Oak Grove in Washburn, Goins Chapel and Young’s Chapel, both in Tazewell, Old Yellow Creek #2 in Middlesboro, Kentucky, Elm Springs, Mount Eager, and Locust Grove, all in Washburn, Hill Top in New Market, and God’s Little Mission in Blaine. He pastored a couple of these twice. He helped in revivals and spread the good news in Indiana, Kentucky, Virginia, Tennessee and Georgia.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Vontella Beeler Acuff of thirty-nine years; grandson, Lucas Davis; granddaughters, Whitney and Brittany Acuff; great-grandson, Jansen Chambers; and step-sons Joe Hurst and Larry Hurst. He is survived by his second wife, Maggie Hurst Acuff of twenty-three years; step-brother, William (Ann) Scott of Lynchburg, Virginia; children, Reverend David (Sandy) Acuff, Debra (Clifford) Davis, Donna (Joe) Walker, Darnell (Randy) Kincaid, Denise (William) Lawson, Delora (Mickey) Long and Donald (Belinda) Acuff; step-sons, Teddy Hurst, Ronnie Hurst and Tony (Kelly) Hurst; twenty-six grandchildren; thirty-seven great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; and a host of other relatives, church family and friends. Special thanks to Estelle Taylor, Shelly Hadley and Lori McKinney from Tennova Hospice for their care and support.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Saturday, March 3, 2018 in the Trinity Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 8:00 p.m. with Reverend Jerry Oliver, Reverend Mickey Long and Reverend Earnest Greene officiating. Family and friends will meet at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, March 4, 2018 at Trinity Funeral Home to go in procession to Beeler-Acuff Cemetery, Washburn for a 2:30 p.m. interment service. Pallbearers, Teddy Hurst, Tony Hurst, Toby Hurst, Donald Acuff, David Acuff, and Tiger Hurst; honorary pallbearers, grandsons and Ronnie Hurst.
